I might just have some time to participate in this round, so can someone just confirm the rules for me.
Are the rules more or less simliar to that of the previous F1 05 competition, only now there's a Fastest Lap championship as well, where in that one, you can modify car setup?
What about traction control? If I'm not mistaken cpg once said that its up to the player whether they wanted to use it or not for this competition, or if it was just for that test race.
And what about anti-lock brakes? Is that on or not? If it is on, can I enter with no anti-lock brakes? It's just that now I'm kinda use to playing with no anti-lock, even if it means I'll be slower compared to if I had them on.

Please see the message with race rules. If traction control is not mentioned, which I think it is (can't remember), then you can do whatever you like with it.

ps. please remember that deadline for Round 1 is midnight tomorrow. If entry is low, or if one week is not long enough, I will increase the time for each race to 2 weeks, or drop the time trial part of the championship.

Ok, I've read it already. 20% race distance now, but does that still have pitstops? Cos if I'm not mistaken in F105, 20% race distance didn't have pitstops. I mean I dunno, haven't actually played 20% race distance on F1 06.
Ok, there's a bit of a clash between the rules here. Your post on the Rules section clearly states that one may use any car of their choice, but at the beginning of this thread, the car's chosen for us (i.e Midland).
Dunno which rule to follow, but I think I'll choose the Midland.

"Race, car to be used and deadline will be disclosed in the appropriate race thread. Each round will last for one week." I think that is pretty clear. That means exactly what I have done, nothing else has been said otherwise. Ignore the test race thread, the rules have changed.
You can have pitstops on any length of race, please print off the settings, put them as that on the game, then you will see that if fuel and wear is scaled, you have to make a pitstop. How many you want to make is up to you.

On what I thought was my first attempt, just before the red lights went out, I just realised that, when you modify a car setup, its automatically stored when you save it right, so that would be the initial setup for when you start any race event on that particular circuit.
I modified my Midland car setup for Bahrain sometime ago, and forgot about resetting everything to default again. So just as I was about to race, I suddenly remembered, and reset the console again.
What I wanna ask is, would it be ok if that "attempt" was ignored? Cos its not like I even started racing anyway. And besides, it was set on 30% race distance anyway, when its suppose to be on 20%.

Damn, another glitch that I was unaware of. I'll have to leave it for this race and make sure that for the next round, default settings are used.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Cos in F1 05, the intial setup is always default, and that we can load several saved setups. But for some reason in F1 06 they've left that feature out and replaced with a saved modified setup all the time.
I hope not everyone hasn't realised that. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was the only person racing on default.
Anyways, I've sent you my time through PM.

Just PM'd my times.
I think we should make the fastest lap competition default settings as well, therefore not making it seem like something extra, but more of just your practise for the race. I ended up just leaving it on normal settings for the time trial because I didn't want to spend ages getting a good setup just to go back to default for the race and have the car feel completly different. If time trial is done on normal settings then it serves more of a purpose for the race itself.

Would you all prefer it if I get rid of the time trial part? Then there is less to do.
