Set ups make it even more complicated. You'd have to do Race Car Evolution which makes it even longer than it is now. I'm not bothered about winning, I'm not fast enough to and that doesn't bother me. I just want it to be a bit more user friendly that's all. Yea i am not interested in changing set ups What do you think would be more user friendly ? Well it would be good if I could run Virtual Racing Line and one or two other aids. It wouldn't make me faster than the good people. In an ideal world I'd like medium instead of hard, but I know that isn't going to happen.

I think i am a better candidate because i always enter unless i have a good reason i managed to get a few new members last night and i know atleast 1 more is coming- Ambassador Forza is gonna join on wednesday Hrmph, but I came up with the suggestions, and had the nerve to email as many people as possible, I had second thoughts about that, cos they might find it as some sort of annoying spam in their inbox, but I thought hey, why not. If it wasn't for this thread, who knows, there wouldn't even be a 4th round, let alone continuing this championship. And you said that you always enter unless you have a good reason. Well, you missed the first race this season because you had to wait for your steering wheel, when you could've just used a normal controller. I miss races because I put other priorities (i.e work) on top what is just a fun competition. And even if I do miss races, that doesn't mean I can't check my inbox to see people's entries, and I'll make sure the results are put on display as soon as possible, right after the deadline. And ppparkinson, as for the driver aids, well, who's to say that's not going to happen. Everything's open for discussion at the moment.

As for changing the car setup, if you're not interested, then fine, but other people might be, whatever attracts more people in entering.
You can't say that there would be an unfair advantage, as they have changed their car setup and you haven't, because you too, are entitled to changing the car setup, but if you wish not to, then fine, that's your concious decision.
And ppparkinson9, if by user-friendly you mean a shorter race distance, like 10% then yeah ok. But if some people still wanna do 20%, then there could be two leagues, one with 10%, and the other one with 20% race distance. And if anyone really does have that much free time, they could even enter both, if they wanted to.

Look, I was asking for suggestions hoping to keep the competition alive. Cos sometimes... Well, most of the time, I'm put off by the low number of entries, because what's the point in playing with just 5-6 people when there could be so many more.

Well, seeing as you two are just bickering between yourselves, I will leave this thread for a few more days, take all the suggestions and come up with a compromise that I think will work. At least I don't start arguments when in charge.

Looks like a lot's changed since I've been away this weekend
What, with the apparent power struggle and then these.....interesting suggestions, all I know is that I've only entered one of the three rounds this season, but not because I don't like the format of the competition
All I'm saying is that some of these changes seem to be for the better, but some don't seem too appealing - personally changing the car set-up is not an important aspect, and the cars should be chosen for you, the test of driving each car is good, and as for qualifying, I'm not convinced of the fairness
But hey, whatever is decided is decided and I'll try my best to keep up with the changes, just don't alter the rules too much like in the real life F1 because things become unclear and confusing

Well, the qualifying thing will remain as it is, because it is thought that there's the possibility that someone might not even be able to qualify into the higher sessions, giving them a disadvantage. So I guess there will be no qualifying at all.
As for the car setup thing, I only thought of it as a way to make the competition more appealing and user friendly. It may not be an important aspect to some, but it is still a feature that can be used in the game, and so why not use it if it means more people will enter or are more tempted.
The thought of choosing your own car came to my mind after thinking about teams and team names. Because in real life F1, private teams who are supplied with customer engines have the engine name at the back of their team name, that's when it gave me the idea of "[Team name] Ferrari", "[Team name] McLaren" or "[Team name] Williams". In BATracer you hear a few people wanting to get into their favourite team but are unable to do so because someone's taken the places, so some people feel a bit dissapointed and wait for the next BATracer game. But there's only one competition on this forum.

Fair enough, as I say I'll play the way that's decided, and the team aspect is certainly a good idea
