Okay, last round (Australian round), there were only 4 entries, and only Philfoden and I seemed bothered to have missed that round, so in theory, it should have been 6. Considering that there are 31 entries, there should really be a lot more entries expected than just 6.
Why? Why do people just register, and rarely enter, some of which, have never even entered?
I have a few suggestions, which hopefully, will attract more people in participating in this competition. Bear in mind that these are just suggestions. And who knows, there would probably be a poll/vote on what should be changed or not.
CAR CHOICE & CAR SETUP:
Ok, a lot of people may disagree with me on this, but I thought, why not make people able to choose their own car (Which is most likely to be one of the fastest) and able to modify their own car setup, or one of the two. It doesn't really take the fun out of the competition, because at least people will be more comfortable with how they play.
TEAMS:
We've always played with an individual championship system, so how about playing with teams? People can join up with friends and become team mates, otherwise participants will be paired together at random, forming a team/constructor's championship.
Provided that the Team championship exists, they can then form their own team names, and if the "Independant Car choice" is approved, then they could have the name of the car at the back of their team name. For example, if I'm part of a team called "Gempak", and the cars that my team mate and I use are Ferraris, then it'll be called "Gempak Ferrari". If we use Super Aguri cars, then it will be called "Gempak Super Aguri" as opposed to "Gempak Honda", even though Super Aguri are supplied by Honda. If I use Ferrari and my team mate uses a McLaren, then the team will be called "Gempak Ferrari McLaren Mercedez" or "Gempak Ferrari McLaren".
I haven't yet decided on whether participants should only choose one type of car for that season, and shouldn't change it (Assuming that there is an independant car choice), because to change cars every now and again only creates hassle for changing team names, but then again, if you've made your choice and are happy with it, can't see why you'd wanna change it.
QUALIFYING:
Dunno if everyone's happy to start at the back of the grid, but I can't see why people have problems with this. But if need be, then this could be changed. Thanks to the new qualifying system, we can now definitely have a spot on the grid in 22nd, 16th or 10th. Personally, I'd rather prefer to start the race at 10th, but I have no problems at all starting the race from 22nd.
Anyone agree/disagree with the suggestions, or have any of your own to present? Please, we need as much feedback as possible.
