The damage is realistic this time cpg-if you want to turn it off I think there is some driving aid that reduces the damage. I prefer it like that to be honest, much more realistic.

Just bought the game a couple of days. Playing easy on career as I haven't had a driving game for ages and don't play PS2 much. My poor girlfriend got subjected to 8 hrs on Sat and 4 hrs Sunday HAHAHA!!
Anyway, I got the 1st driver drive for Torro Rosso, then when drives came up for test with Ferrari adn BMW I was overlooked because I had not enough testing successes. I go to each race and do car evolution and it only ever says test complete, how do I know if I have succefully passed them. It is getting pretty frustrating as I want to find a better team but can't get hired.

Ok you're getting confused, when you're a Second Driver or a Test Driver you are set various test challenges which if you pass count as testing successes.
The Evolution can't be passed or failed it's just to help you set up your car.
To secure a drive for Ferrari you'll have to rack up the wins. But it isn't too hard on Easy mode, you should be able to win races in the Toro Rosso.

If you are a no.1 driver you will only get a better seat when your race performances improve. You don't do individual tests (well, I haven't come across any yet). And ppparkinson9 is right, if you are on easy mode you should really win every race!

The damage is infuriating at times, and cars just slow down on the racing line for no apparent reason. I crashed into the back of Mark Webber in the chicane before the long straight at Malaysia because he slowed down and there was nowhere for me to go! I lost a wheel, and then for some reason, the car spun and would not stop going backwards, so I hit the wall. Big mess. Unhappy driver.

So if we're all up for it being realistic how about losing the penalties? I don't recall F1 cars being limited to 100mph when they skipped a chicane.
As this is a test of honesty, why can't we have F1 penalties. If miss a chicance and pass someone you let them back past. If you skip a corner 2 or 3 times you take a stop go. Easy. What's winding me up is when I make a mistake, go off and come back on track in the same place and get a penalty- it's stupid!

Save whenever you can, I don't know if you're on the PS2 or PSP version, but F106 loves to crash on the PSP.

I was on about the damage is now realstic but them penalties are annoying as well. They need to get rid of them although it would probably be hard to get a system to work out when you've cheated or not.
